Recorded Live at Mishkan Torah!
The most recent CD release from the New Klezmer Quintet features several tracks from the September 2007 Concert at Mishkan Torah!! Both the performance and the production level of this CD are exceptional. The band has gone one extra step in giving Mishkan Torah a fundraising opportunity by offering it to the public exclusively through Mishkan Torah as a pre-release, prior to a formal public release by the band. The idea is that for each $20 CD sold to anyone through Mishkan Torah, $5 will go to the Synagogue.
The official name of the CD is Unexpected Joy -- The New Klezmer Quintet -- Live In Concert With Ramon Tasat. Mishkan Torah’s favorite klezmer musician Brain Choper writes, “This recording came out very transparent, clear, clean and lively.” Brian adds, “It's a lot of fun, as it sounds like you are right there in the front row.” Mishkan Torah’s Yoni Charry was one of the recording sound engineers.
